A Gable-Roof Patio Cover Designed for a Sugar Land Home
Completed patio cover project · Sugar Land, Texas
Custom outdoor living designed for this home
An attached gable-roof patio cover with open-gable detailing, coordinated roofing and trim, a new patio slab and finished surface, plus integrated fan and recessed lighting.

Project overview
What Colony Builders built
This Sugar Land project adds substantial backyard shade while keeping the roof form visually connected to the two-story home. Colony Builders constructed an attached gable-roof patio cover that ties into the existing rear roofline and spans the patio with an open, high-ceilinged design.
The front gable uses clean white trim and decorative framing to give the new structure a finished architectural face. Matching shingles, fascia, gutters, downspouts, columns and paint colors help the cover look planned with the home rather than added as a generic kit.

Design approach
Built to relate to the existing home
Colony installed the patio slab and finished surface along with the visible ceiling fan and recessed lighting beneath the light paneled ceiling. The open gable preserves an airy backyard feel while adding dependable overhead protection and a defined place for outdoor seating.
